FIFTEEN HUNDRED SAVED ON THE FORTIETH NIGHT OF THE REVIVAL MEETINGS IN
MEXICO CITY - 25,000 IN ATTENDANCE.

Forty nights of revival meetings continues past the fortieth night in
Mexico City the largest city in the world. On April 7th, Pastor Aurelio
Gomez a former Roman Catholic priest of legendary popularity began a
forty-night campaign in his large city of twenty-five million souls. Every
night for forty nights, crowds of five, ten, and even twenty thousand souls
gathered to hear, "the good news to the preached to the poor, to have
hands of faith laid on their sick bodies, and have the devils broken off
their lives."

REVIVAL IN THE WORLD'S LARGEST CITY

The revival continues strong here in the world's most populated city! This
revival began when Aurelio Gomez the ex Roman Catholic priest began 40
straight nights of evangelistic healing meetings on a hillside outside of
Mexico City. Canadian evangelist Wesley Campbell and Nigerian Healing Evangelist Charles Ndifon kicked off the crusade,
preaching the first 10 nights. Immediately God began to move in ways even
unexpected by those of us who planned and prayed for this historic event.
From that time until this, night after night the front of the outdoor
auditorium fills with hungry souls, weeping and crying out for mercy. The
shouts of joy and praise are sometimes hard to distinguish among the
shrieks of demons leaving and the wails of those repentant.

Since these the first day, we have had visiting evangelists from Canada,
Nigeria, the revival in Pensacola - Florida; and this past week form that
great Argentine revival. All of these men of God have commented on how what
the Lord of the harvest is doing here is unique. There is such spontaneity,
such a freshness. We are amazed that every night for 42 nights God has
brought hundreds of unconverted, totally pagan people into the revival
services.

This past week a young man who robbed passenger buses was converted. The
following night he brought four daggers, drugs, and pornography to throw on
a growing mountain of fetishes, idols, satanic books and tapes and bullets
already brought by those converting from darkness to light. Daily the pile
of discarded trash seems to grow with the crowds as this true sign of
repentance gains momentum. Already four pistols have been thrown onto the
pile. Once after noticing a certain man night after night in the revival
leaping and shouting praising God I went over to get to know him. He told
me that his name was Eduardo, and shared through tears how he came the very
first night and received Jesus. He had been a hardcore addict for over 15
years. Last night he shared in front of the cheering multitudes that he was
clean now for 41 days and how God has called him to preach the gospel.
Another night a young man called to me from the side of the platform. When
I went to introduce myself he showed me some photos of a pretty lady. He
said that those pictures of the pretty lady were pictures of himself six
weeks before. He began to explain how he was a transvestite, addicted to
alcohol who danced in gay bars in the downtown area. Now in the revival he
has been marvelously transformed. A week ago a prostitute with her "work"
clothes on, came running down front and laid there weeping until every else
had received prayer. She has faithfully returned every day. When she came
up to the platform to testify Saturday night she was truly a different
young women. Unfortunately we didn't get to hear her testimony because
before she could speak she fell out under the power of God and stayed down
until the meeting ended. These four were among the six hundred and thirty
four new believers who loaded up onto twelve buses to go out to the
beautiful mountains that surround this city and follow Jesus in water
baptism. We all sensed the pleasure of the Lord at 8:00 AM, with the heavy
dew of the crisp mountain air upon us as we began to baptize by immersion
the first of the multitude.

We finished at three that afternoon exhausted but after rushing back to the
city for the 6:00 PM meeting our strength returned and we were refreshed as
several hundred responded to the simple gospel message and many were
healed. Sunday night - night forty, an amazing twenty-five thousand were in
attendance. The Lord confirmed to us the counsel previously given us by
Pastor Bob Phillips of the Pensacola Revival training school. When I spoke
about Jesus, the only way to the Father, over fifteen hundred people ran
to the altar to be set free and receive Jesus for the first time. Wow! All
this has awakened in us a desire for more. We know this is only the
beginning of the beginning and we have to press in, continuing forward on
our knees. "The steadfast love of the Lord never fails; His mercies are
new every morning".

One night last week Juan Carlos Manzewitsch, missionary evangelist form
Argentina prophesized that the nations would come to this revival. The next
night a Canadian couple and a Japanese couple were present. I don't know
how many will come from afar by my desire is that from this move of God
many Mexicans would be sent, to India, the Middle East, North Africa, the
great cities of North America.
